    Hello there Eternal Nightmare players!

    I got this question for you, if you're on a server, what do you expect this server to have?
    What is important to you that would have you stick around on the server for a while without getting bored, annoyed, etc.

    Well, not all of these are requirements, but what i like servers to have/do. Firstly, everyone likes events, weather it be for rare items, or just for the fun of it. These could be held in arena, hide and seek and such. New armors and items to keep people from getting bored of the same old stuff. These wouldn't have to be statted, some being more chilled and some used for training. ( Should make me a snapback ;]). I think, it's nice to have a sort of story line, or series of quests to keep the adventurers on the game entertained. (Not played much, so there maybe this already) I like seeing people active on the forums, so if there is a way to boost the use of the fourms, fire away! Also, for the people who arena/pk, we could have a league table, or tournaments so people had more of a reason to play, and to attract new players. Active admins who help out are usually what i look for when i start a new server, so i'd say this is a must, and so far everyone has been nice and i've enjoyed playing. Finally, like Bear said, a good social community is the key! Wink

    Tournaments can deffinatly be looked into or be done through an event for arena. PK would be much harder to do because there's usually a decent gap in level or just who has more pots or who lags first. But I would like to see something different in pk that no other server has. As for what, its hard to say without knowing what can exactly be done and easier to bounce around ideas on these.

    Good community is an obviouse thing we all want.
    I've always liked how in old eo, you would see some players with things like Turtle, devil ect. Items that you couldnt get anymore or was very difficult to obtain. It seperated those players from the rest, and when you saw them, it was like "wow". I want that here. Things that come and go throughout the game to allow individuality to form and to show off those players who were here at the start of it all.

    Events as well. Not always for a great or rare item. But just to have fun and bring the community together to show we are still here and we are still lookin to have fun.

    Pets could do well here if put the right way. Meaning, they are a partner not a slave. Not something to just make the game easier for you. To level, carry everything for you ect. I want them to really play a part here.

    Also, me Demon and Dylan, have been discussing maybe a monthly event held in arena, where a statue would be made of the winner, which would be placed in the middle of the arena zone. In addition to this there could be a hall of fame map to show all of the previous winners and signs to show what date they won. It could attract new players as i haven't heard of an event like this, and the hall of fame would be nice to look back at over the years as the server progresses. I'm guessing it may take a lot of pixeling or something like that. But hey! It's an idea. Wink

    Endless games usually have like.. creatures as bosses, but maybe like a historic warrior? For example, Achillies. Or even a map (if possable) like the colosseum where you would fight a gladiator boss? Just to mix it up between the mythical and reality themes of the game. Or in addition to the colosseum, maybe a quest where you would enter the colosseum and like roman times, fight for your life (or be stuck in there). Dying would result in you spawning inside the colosseum, but in an area with a potion dealer so you could attempt round 2! Just an idea. ^_^

    I don't really know how i thought this, but maybe items could have a stats section, where you would maybe right click it, and a menu would pop up that shows, how much it has been traded for in the past and how many owners it has had. I'm not really sure why you'd do this.. but it'd be preety kew.

    You'd need a custom coded client for that ;o The EO client has alot of limitations.

    What would keep me occupied is some sort of battleground, or event that happens at certain times throughout the day. Let's say like.. 2 teams fight for a crystal, or they have to eliminate the other team for points. Or any kind of activity that could keep players competitive and occupied.

    I actually like that idea a lot too. It'd be cool to incorporate more games like that, i.e. capture the flag, team arena, etc.

    I brought up this idea to Mike, and I'm aware of the fact that it has been done by Rena. Basically, it's a series of rounds. Each round holds new monsters which, gets stronger as the "event" progresses. If you survive however many rounds, you got your name announced (I think) and won 10k (again, amount may be incorrect) In Rena's server, it was referred to as Hells Gate. I believe this would work well on Eternal Nightmare.

    Well we have an event map. Something I would like to do aswell for an event map. Is when hosting a pretty big event, all players who wld wana participate into the event are taken to a miniture maze which will be changed after each use. This maze simply decides who enters the event. Players will race thro the maze for the first time, and the first 10-20 (or however many players we decide) who make it are the contestants of the event. We can have a mini reward for simply makin it there first aswell if the admin(s) want, aslong as it aint to big.

    Well, I like ridiculous crafts something that takes time to make and not just be able to make it in a couple hours or really quickly. I mean its understandable if you have some of the ing already, but personally I liked bu crafts. They was hard and took time to make. I like this in a server because either you want to make it and get better or you sit around and be a newb ;]

    Really good idea's!

    I dont know whats do-able with this client, but i'll fire away.

    I know you dont want to copy other server's, so with that in mind, I must start with pets. I do hope you use a pet system like fe, with free roaming pets and not like the pet on your leg thing bu has. Alot of diffrent online games have pets that walk around you and fight enemies, and lvl up. I wouldnt say this is copying anybody. Just be unique with your graphics.

    It would also be cool if the pet not only lvled up, but could learn new skills or spells as they grow. Like a low lvl pet could use a basic attack plus fireball randomly. Then from pet lvl 10 or 15 it grows stronger and now learns firebomb from 15-25, it learns inferno, and each levl is stronger.

    also, it would be cool, if the pet actually grew as it lvled. you know, we start with a pup, then at lvl 15-20, it morph's into a puppy, then at lvl 50 or so it changes to a dog. (just an example). I'm partial to wolves myself lol

    ok, next ...

    With aoe now added to the game (sweet), weapons are cool, and you should make them as with the TB. But how bout this....

    Can items be used to grant aoe? instead of just weapons? I think this would be cool because if you have a cool lookin weapon you like alot, but want to use aoe, just get the item and place it in your inventory. it gives your attack aoe! Add crafting!!

    Make a craftable item that gives the aoe. Like a newb lvl aoe item could be fairly easy to craft with few items to get but only grants 1 by 1 or 2 by 2 aoe. Were as a high lvl aoe item would be difficult to craft with many items to collect, but gives 6 by 6 or 8 by 8 aoe.

    it would be funny to see a high lvl char with a basic dagger doin 6 by 6 aoe. lol.
    The only other servre i know of with aoe is FE, but they strickly use it with weapons. I think this would be totally unique. (havent played BU in over a year, and evn then i only played for a week or so.-dont know if they have aoe.

    Anyway, i got this idea from the FE fire curse, it only adds a attack bonus, and a ok graphic, but its just an item. So, is it possible to use an item to a cooler end like this aoe thing?

    I really would like some shades for my char! Smile The Iceman needs to look stylin Smile

    One last thing, I have always liked costumes. Could we get alot of those? We could craft some, buy some, even win some somehow. I think a cacadem costume and a shark costume would be cool for starters. Then theres the nightmare theme to consider. A few scary ones? Oh, and why not make one costume in the whole game for bear? A bear costume Smile.

    More crafts, and more quests. That seems to be the only way I can train. When I have a purpose I focus on that and then bam I gained a level Good deal if you ask me. Try and have harder crafts for lower levels too with rewarding crafts... ex they need to get like 50 wool or 100 crows feet... alot of servers make all the things worth crafting to hard to get for new players, so there should be stuff for new players to work on too. I know the server is still under construction but I'll still suggest more training areas for a variety of levels... Longer quests, I like the ones that you have they were the reason I stayed in the first place, but I feel like they were over too soon. Sad This is all I have right now, i'm not really all to buzzed about events and such i think they ruin the flow of the game.. I will say that event prizes shouldn't include the best weapon in the game or wings or armors I haven't been on for an event yet so idk how you guys do things but I think you should give away exp, or an important craft item, money, etc but rarely a high level wep or armor those should be saved for bigg events, like a huge tournament of some kind, not for hide and seek, or trivia. okay now thats really alll haha. I'll probably have more to suggest later.

    This being Eternal Nightmare and all, why not some nightmarish pets? Like a cool skelleton warrior,....not the ones in the game, but make a new cool one? Or, a jack-o-lantenr pet, a unique ghost, a giant bat, or maybe a mummy.

    Regular idea's, I'd like to see a techno type pet, like a robocopish, or a terminatorish pet. or a hover-bot.
    A cool large wolf would be cool. How about a buff-big-and hairy Bigfoot pet?

    Gotta have a Crysis pet Smile


    Maybe on the cute side of it all, (for the ladies), a panda, a kitty cat, a teddybear and/or a pony.....

    Time for an event idea?

    What if we gathered some of these idea's together that have been brought up?

    have a totally random event timer in-game. like every hour, or every 4 hours, (or every 30 mins-to once a day----idk)

    Anyway, one player gets warped to the death room(w/e) where the player faces 10-20 waves of monsters. The waves get stronger as they progress. and the player try's to make it as far as they can.

    Each wave defeated nets the player 3-5 game tickets and if they can defeat all the waves, they get 50 tickets.

    The tickets appear in the players inventory when they die, or win the event. Also, upon death or winning the event, the player is warped back to where ever they were.

    Maybe an NPC in newbland could record and display players progress and number of tickets won.

    With a single player event like this, players have a percentage of a chance to be picked for the event Smile

    it seems that everyone is impressed with you guys not copying other servers, so i was tryin to contribute in that direction.

    Wings are cool looking, but everyone uses them. And I wouldnt get rid of them, but, offer something else that gives cool stat boosts, but looks diffrent.

    FE has its sungod, and wings as well, but I was thinkin, shoulder spikes, or shoulder pads could look cool. Try spikes that stick up on each side of the head, and maybe some that lay down on the shoulder.


    IDK, Theres the backpack. What about a sling, or war harness? Or maybe spine spikes. A row of spikes that are placed along the backbone? anyway, .....cya in game Smile

    Ananas you probally already know what type of feature I would LOVE to be added. Devil Gate Devil Gate Devil. It's a very good feature for players to earn a special item each time. The devil Gate could be a automatic warp system every hour.

    Trying to comment on everything. We dont want AoE to be overused/overpowered. So the best weapons in the game will not be a aoe. That would make training WAY to easy.

    Pets, they still gotta be fixed. We also dont want them to be over used and over powered. They should be an ally/friend. Help you with the stronger areas, but not do all the work for you. For one, Id suggest if a pet is capable of healing or attacking, it needs to be limited. Along with pets, pet items. Things they require in order to fully act. Make it somewhat costly too or difficult to get some of the items.

    I personally like the event idea. Similar to the devil gate event. However, that would require alot of work to even out the player levels and such. Any player could be warped, but a for a lvl 10 being warped suppose to a lvl 100, see the different? One can get through it easy, while the other might not have a shot in hell. So maybe we can build off the idea, but make it alittle more fair for all levels.

    Several quests and items will be added aswell.

    As fo other back items. Wings will not be the best. We brought that up already, we're gunna have other items aswell, and wings will have their own stats, while other items (shields, arrows) will have their own to keep things matched. And not make just 1 item the BEST.

    Something I'm surprised hasn't popped up yet..

    I'd like to see either on site or on the server, different skill boards showing the top players for each skill (Fishing, Woodcutting etc), as well as the standard level you are. Like a top 15 or top 100. So each board will be up to date showing the players name, and their level in that generic skill. Many people wouldn't be too bothered about this, however, if prizes of different quantities or quality (e.g. gold, exp, or an item) were given to the players first on the list or in the top three (on a monthly or weekly basis). Then this would make people more active in game and will make them want to use the skills available as the rewards will be their incentive.

    That certainly can be done. As for a reward, thats a bit tricky, we dont want these players to be given to much. Rather, reward players after they reach a certain level(s). But again, nothing to big. Id personally suggest something useless/priceless/statless. Just something as a congrats, heres a lore item you can brag about ect. Or just allow their name to be noticed, similar to the arena board idea.

    People level alot just to get on the top 100 highest level list all the time. Although theres no reward in it. They just like to see their name. So we can give them that. Smile

    Yeah, that's what I was trying to get at. The idea of even simply gaining said item makes people want to do it. As there is a reward for their efforts. I mainly thought of this so people can get their names out there as being the highest in a certain skill for example. But as you said, it can certainly be done, and I'm sure everyone will like the idea.
